What is the AI Driver's License?
The AI driver's license is a hands-on proof that employees understand the basics of artificial intelligence, the risks and the legally compliant use. It meets the requirements of Art. 4 of EU Regulation 2024/1689 (EU AI Act).
Specifically, Art. 4 obliges all providers and deployers of AI systems to ensure their employees have 'sufficient AI literacy'. The obligation has been in force since February 2, 2025 and affects almost every company — from sole proprietors to large corporations.

Is the AI driver's license really mandatory?+
Yes. Since February 2, 2025, companies are obliged under Art. 4 EU AI Act to ensure that all employees who use or develop AI systems have 'sufficient AI literacy'. Violations can result in fines up to €35M or 7% of global annual turnover.
What exactly does 'AI literacy' mean?+
The regulation defines AI literacy as 'skills, knowledge and understanding that allow informed use of AI systems, awareness of opportunities and risks, and prevention of possible harm'. This means every employee with AI contact must know basics, risks and legal framework.
Who needs to be trained?+
All employees who use, deploy, manage or develop AI systems — regardless of department or position. In practice, this covers almost every employee, as tools like ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot or Claude are already widespread.
How do we prove training in an audit?+
Each participant receives a personalized certificate with date, content and signature. For companies, we also provide a collective certificate with participant list. These documents are sufficient for the documentation requirement under Art. 4 AI Act.
How long does the AI driver's license take?+
Training takes 4 hours (half a day) and is delivered live via Zoom. For larger teams, we offer in-house training with extended content (1 day).
What does the AI driver's license cost?+
Individual booking: €249 per person. Team rate from 5 people: €199/person. In-house training (up to 15 participants): €1,990 flat rate. All prices plus VAT.
By when do we need to complete the training?+
The obligation has been in force since February 2, 2025. The enforcement phase starts gradually from August 2026. We recommend completing and documenting the training promptly.
